Silvio Rohrer graduated from the University of Zürich Law School in 1985. After completion of his studies, he began working at UBS Zürich where he created and successfully implemented a Trust Feasibility Analysis and the related Business Plan. Thereafter, he was responsible for UBS’ global trust functional management and the further development of its Trust business. In 1998, he was appointed as Head of Wealth Planning USA and moved to New York in order to establish and lead the U.S. Domestic Trust business and the onshore Financial Planning activities. His position also involved advising international clients with complex estate and succession planning issues.
In 1999, he joined Credit Suisse and returned to Zurich, Switzerland. As a member of the Executive Committee and Global Head Sales Advisory & Marketing, he assumed the responsibility for building up and heading the advisory teams as well as for the marketing activities and the product development. In cooperation with reputable tax lawyers and law firms, he developed succession planning products and services for various markets. He also advised high net worth individuals and entrepreneurs in complex situations and designed tailor-made solutions for them.
In 2004, he established his own advisory firm “Silvio Rohrer Consulting”. As an independent Wealth Planning Advisor he also worked for Lombard International Assurance S.A., the European market leader for tax compliant assurance solutions, and helped to develop the Swiss market. In addition, he advised clients from reputable Private Banks in all aspects of estate planning.
In 2005, he accepted a new challenge with HSBC Private Bank where, as a member of the Executive Committee GWS (Global Wealth Solutions), he was not only responsible for the entire Swiss Region but also, as Co-head he was responsible for all wealth Planning activities in Latin America, the Middle East, Africa and the Global South East Diaspora. In addition, he was Chairman of the HSBC Guyerzeller Trust Company based in Switzerland. Apart from his leadership functions, he provided holistic advice, structured solutions and their implementation and care for international clients.
As of 2009, Silvio Rohrer joined Alyco Advisory AG as Director of Marketing. Throughout his professional career and in addition to his various management functions he has advised international high net worth individuals and entrepreneurs in all estate, succession and wealth planning issues. Due to his vast operative experience he also offers management consultancy services to selected financial institutions.
As of 2019, he established his advisory firm " Silvio Rohrer Consulting" and since then also works as independent consultant for the Alyco Group.
He is married and has two children. In his spare time he likes reading, doing sport, attending cultural events and listening to music.
